Count with the monkey and tap the right banana!
About Math Monkey
Math Monkey turns early sums into a jungle snack. A cheerful monkey swings on a vine and asks a simple question such as 2 + 1, while a picture board shows apples, stars, flowers or berries to count. Pick the banana with the right number and the monkey catches it, munches it and cheers. Choose a different banana and it simply wiggles and fades so children can try again, with no timer and nothing to lose. Questions grow very slowly: sums up to five first, then up to ten, then up to twenty, with take-away questions from level six where faded pictures show what was taken away. Each level has about eight questions, and the levels never run out, so young learners can practise counting, adding and subtracting at their own pace on a phone, tablet or computer.
How to play
- Read the monkey's question, or count the pictures on the board.
- For plus questions, count both groups together.
- For take-away questions, count only the pictures that are not faded.
- Tap or click the banana with the answer. The monkey will catch it!
- If a banana wiggles, that was not it. Try another one.
