About Merge 2048
Merge 2048 is a relaxing yet clever number puzzle. Slide every tile on the board at once, merge matching numbers into bigger ones and build up to the goal tile shown at the top of each level. Early goals are quick, starting at 64 and 128, then the targets climb towards 1024 and 2048 as you progress. Some levels use a roomy five by five board, every fifth level is a gentle breather, and every tenth is a boss board with immovable stone blocks that force you to rethink your strategy. Every level is generated from a fixed seed, so each stage is the same for every player. Play free in your browser with arrow keys or quick swipes on your phone.
How to play
- Swipe or press an arrow key (or W, A, S, D) to slide every tile in that direction.
- Two tiles with the same number merge into one tile worth their sum.
- A new 2 or 4 appears after every move. Reach the goal tile shown at the top to clear the level.
- Keep your biggest tile in a corner and build a chain of decreasing numbers next to it.
- If the board fills up with no possible merges you lose a life and retry the level.
- Boss boards contain stone blocks that never move; tiles stop against them.
